Does studying economics reduce social capital? – polemic

Tomasz Kopczewski, in his article entitled Does studying economics reduce social capital? An experimental approach to measuring norms and social preferences an experimental approach to measuring social norms and preferences [Ekonomia 2003 No. 11], argues that studying economics lowers the level of social capital among students of economic universities. I cannot fully agree with this thesis.
