Does studying economics reduce social capital?

The basis of this article is an observation I made while I made while teaching a class on experimental economics. As a result of certain socio-cultural conditions, students of the Department of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw increase their knowledge at the end of their studies, but their predisposition for collective activities weakens considerably. Their studies reinforce their individualism and calculative thinking.
