Teaching computer science in economic studies
ABSTRACT: 1) assessment of the curricula for teaching computer science subjects in economic studies (especially in the field of -informatics and econometrics), 2) proposals for teaching computer science subjects in economic faculties of universities and economic academies. In order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives: the curricula for teaching IT subjects at economic universities and faculties of economic universities, leading in the field of teaching economic informatics (or having a major or specialisation in -informatics and econometrics), both public and private, in Poland and worldwide, were reviewed (e.g. an attempt was made to identify subjects (including the specification of subject matter, content, recommended literature and software), which should be compulsory subjects for students of computer science and econometrics, who wish to choose the profession of an economist and computer scientist; an attempt was made to identify future trends in the development of computer science and to determine the demand of the economy for specialists with a degree in computer science and econometrics.
